How is recording file size calculated?
File size uses the combined video and audio bitrate, multiplied by recording duration and divided by eight. Storage is shown in decimal GB, matching drive manufacturers.
Can I use this for CQP or VBR recording?
CQP and VBR do not have a fixed bitrate, so this is an estimate. Use the average bitrate from a similar previous recording for a more useful projection.
Will the upload time be exact?
No. Wi-Fi, network congestion, and the destination service can change upload speed. The default assumes 85% of your stated upstream speed.
Does this tool upload or store my inputs?
No. The calculation runs in your browser. Your bitrate, duration, and storage values are not sent in analytics events.
